PURE BLONDE – adopted

Macedon Ranges, Victoria
French Bulldog • 4 months • Male

Is a one-eyed Frenchie on your ‘Must Adopt One Day’ list? Then this boy is the perfect one for you (also a great name for a band if that’s your thing)!!
Pure Blonde is a 4 month old bundle of pure happiness. He loves dogs, big or small, thinks cats really enjoy being chased (but is very respectful when they let him know that is not cool), and small humans are on his list of favourite things to lick because they are just so accessible!
He is super affectionate and will give you a gentle nudge if he needs a few extra snugs and kisses. Blondie (as he is known here in foster care) absolutely loves toys and will spend hours entertaining himself swapping from one to the next, he also loves a good game of fetch or tug-o-war with the big dogs!
When it is time for a nap, Pure Blonde is happy to snooze away in his crate or in your lap, you won’t hear any complaints from this kid but you will hear some typical Frenchie snoring! He is learning all about harnesses and walking on a leash but would definitely benefit from a puppy class or two as he learns super fast and loves to please. His toilet training is coming along nicely, he can typically hold on overnight and will let you know he needs to go outside for a toilet break with just a bark or two when he is in his crate.
Couch time is a must for this kid, he loves to bring his favourite toys and curl up next to you in the evenings (after a few rounds of bitey face with his much larger foster sisters). Pure Blonde has been in an environment where his foster carers work from home so he is quite used to having someone around but he has shown no signs of anxiety and is happy to snooze the time away in his crate if his humans are out and about during the day or night. Pure Blonde loves the company of other dogs so a doggy sibling or two, while not a deal breaker, is definitely preferred for this kiddo.
Pure Blonde absolutely loves his food and will definitely let you know if breakfast, lunch or dinner is not forthcoming (just a gentle bark or two to remind you). He is currently on a combination of BARF raw, mashed boiled eggs, prescription wet food (like Hill’s i/d or Royal Canin Sensitivity) as well as various probiotics and supplements to keep him fighting fit.

BEFORE  you read Pure Blonde’s adoption criteria it is extremely important that potential adopters give great thought and communicate in their adoption application as to what their home set up and routine plan is for the first few weeks/months if they are the successful adopter of this most precious pupper. Pure Blonde cannot be settled in over just a weekend and then left on a Monday home alone while you return to work… There needs to be a plan outlined so that his foster family can feel assured he is going to be set up for success in his new home.

ADOPTION CRITERIA

Deal breakers:

– Pure Blonde new family must be committed to ongoing training to ensure he grows to be the best doggo he can be.

– Daily walks and outings are a must, Pure Blonde loves to keep up with the goings on of the neighbourhood, he is a very charming young lad.

– A specific balanced, healthy diet (raw is our preference) is very important for Pure Blonde to ensure his digestive health as he has had some tummy issues in the past.

– Pure Blonde must be truly part of the family and that means access inside as he pleases, this guy would not much enjoy being left outside.

– The lucky adoptive family of Pure Blonde will need to be ready to keep in regular contact with his current foster family and his mama at Life of Pikelet HQ throughout the duration of his life, this is not negotiable.

Non deal breakers:

– Pure Blonde has grown up with many foster siblings and is used to their constant companionship so a home with a  friend or 2 is preferred. A home with no other dog will be considered if the family is home more often than not.

A home in Victoria is preferred however interstate applicants will be considered, potential forever families would need to come to HQ for a meet and greet

HEALTH

– Pure Blonde arrived into care with Life of Pikelet due to the extreme severity of his left eye and the ulceration. Just last week Pure Blonde had his eye removed to relieve the pressure and was desexed at the same time. Already bouncing back while in foster care, Pure Blonde is a very healthy baby boyo.
